Reasons Why Marquise Diamonds Are Special

Sunday, January 22nd, 2012

The Marquise Diamond is usually distinguished by its outstanding elongated shape. Six prongs are usually used to hold the diamond in shape and protect it from getting scratched or discolored. One of the best things about marquise diamonds is how affordable which makes them an alternative to other expensive traditional shapes. The cut also appears larger than it really is which makes it perfect for engagement or wedding rings. The diamond’s deep edges ensure that light will pass through and increase the stone’s brilliance and ability to reflect light. Customers will definitely look great and be able to save money at the same time. However, it is recommended that you try on the ring first to ensure that it fits you. For example, it was found that marquise diamonds look better on women that have slender fingers. This will also help you in adjusting the size and shape if the ring is too big for you.

Princess Cut Diamond Rings As Legacy

Saturday, January 7th, 2012

Do you have some pieces of jewelry which have been given to you by your older family members like your grandmother? In the olden times, pieces of jewelry are given as part of an inheritance or a legacy left by grandparents or parents themselves. It was a tradition that the pieces of jewelry of the mothers would go to their daughters and sometimes this would include princess cut diamond rings of different colors. It is given in the belief that later on the same rings will be passed on to the next generation of women in the family. In case, there are no daughters, the diamond rings are given to the eldest among the granddaughters. There might be those who would give it to their daughters-in-law, too. This passing on of the rings to the next in line is like the process of succession on the part of the women in the family.

I Want Good Results with My Plugs

Saturday, December 3rd, 2011

I decided to look into some 12 guage plugs for myself. It is about time that I move up the ranks and become one of the people who wears plugs. I am going to try to make the piercing as big as it will go. I think that it is quite incredible that the earlobe can stretch that far! I know that it is really something that people have been doing for the longest time, but it recently became cool. I know that all that truly matters right now is probably the fact that I can at least try to gauge my ears so that they are accustomed to being big. I know that it will take some time, but I am willing to do that. It will be worth it in the end. I am just so very excited about this, and I hope that my results are as cool as the ones that I have seen on other people.

Follow Your Instincts to Choose the Right Engagement Ring

Friday, December 2nd, 2011

There are several ways that you can choose wedding and engagement rings. Either you can propose to your future wife and then go and look for an engagement ring together. This way you will know she will love the ring as she is the one that is choosing it. Some people find that this way takes a little bit of the romance out of getting engaged. Another way is to study what time of jewelry your future bride to be likes to wear, whether it’s contemporary jewellery or whether it something classic and then get her ring size somehow from observing her or asking her friends. You could then have a special engagement ring made up to fit her finger. Follow your instincts with what you feel will be the right type of ring, because it is a ring that is probably going to be worn for the rest of her life. A traditional plain gold wedding band keeps its styles for years to come. If it sounds too plain, you could think about a beaded edge or some engraving in the ring and if you want to go a bit flashier, you can have channel set diamonds.

Our Boss Decided to Retire

Thursday, December 1st, 2011

When we were told the news that our boss was retiring at work, we were all pretty shocked. We are a close knit work group between the five of us in the office and the three traveling salesmen, with our boss being the one who holds us all together. We knew he was getting close to it, but none of us thought it would be so soon. Corporate had already told us they were sending someone down to learn the ropes and take over, and we just knew it would not ever be the same. That is not necessarily a bad thing; it just meant that we would miss him a good deal. We all decided to throw him a party, and then we pooled our money and bought him a Casio G-Shock GA-100-1A1ER watch since we knew he wanted one after talking with his wife. I think he was really surprised to get it when we had the party just a month later. We will miss him, but we are all happy that he is able to finally enjoy a lot more time with his family now too.

Culture and Gold Anklets

Thursday, November 10th, 2011

Lanvin () / ...Many of you probably don’t know that gold anklets have been worn for centuries by different types of women till these days. Mainly, Asian cultures were the ones to start this trend especially in India. Gold anklets were used to represent either if woman is wealthy or not where it was a sign of being in the top of your society. In many other cultures, women aren’t even allowed to wear any pieces of jewelry. Nowadays, gold anklets don’t only represent culture, but they are also a fashionable statement where different women in the Middle East and the western world extensively wear them. Of course, the design may differ from one place to another, but overall the concept is just one. You will normally find that western women are choosing simpler designs where women in the Middle east are choosing yellow gold anklets with extensive designs as well as styles.

What Were Timex Thinking?

Saturday, October 22nd, 2011

Timex are an interesting brand. Their military watches look like no other, with strange shapes and features as well as the classic range. Take for instance the Timex Expedition WS4. It is a limited edition digital watch with a black face and white straps. The screen almost looks like that of a TV. It is a very wide, rectangular shape that, frankly, I can not decide whether I love or hate. It also has a seemly useless “weather” feature, where instead of telling you the weather will do, it will tell you what it is already doing. I am sure unless Timex assumes we all live in caves, that we are fairly up to date with the current weather situation thanks to our friend, the window. And if they do assume we do live underground, what use would there be in telling us if the sun is out or not?

Fashionable Necklaces for Women

Tuesday, October 4th, 2011

Necklaces have always been a woman’s favorite accessory, even though in time they got replaced by other accessories like rings or bracelets. Nevertheless, necklaces can be a great accessory and they can fit every clothing you may wear, be it a regular sweatshirt or a t-shirt, or a jacket, the only aspect you need to take care of is the color, namely the matching with your clothing’s color. They are also cheap, especially the silver necklaces which are just superbly looking, but of course, the winner in this category, is of course, like in every jewel, gold necklaces, the only disadvantage being the price, but considering you buy a necklace for almost a lifetime, I say it’s a great investment for a woman who wants to add a little more style for herself, and there are a ton of models you can choose from as well, all sorts of layouts, shapes and colors, at reasonable prices.

I Would Never Be Without My Purse Hook

Sunday, October 2nd, 2011

It wasn’t really until today that I realised how much I value my purse hook. I forgot to take it out with me today. It was one of those classic moments where I had left it in another purse and forgotten to transfer it to the purse I was taking out that day. Anyway, I happened to be going for coffee with a girlfriend in the morning, going shopping that day and out that evening so I couldn’t go back and get it. I arrived at the cafe and without my purse hook was forced to hang my bag from the back of my chair. I must say I got slightly paranoid that someone would steal it. Then later on when we went out to a restaurant I had to put my purse on the floor. Not something I relished but it was a tiny restaurant with little room behind the chair or on the table.

Making Your Look Complete

Monday, September 12th, 2011

It is very important to me like many women that I look nice when I leave my house on a morning whether I am going to work or going out with friends. Many women feel naked without their make up on and hair straightened which is much the same how I feel without an item of jewellery. Silver jewellery in particular helps complete my outfit and makes me feel that I am prepared for what the day may throw at me. There was a time that I never wore jewellery and to think back to those days now makes me wonder why. I prefer silver jewellery as I feel that it tends to go with anything I buy making it easier to choose my outfit for that day. When people ask the question what item or accessory can you not do without I think I would have to say a nice shiny piece of silver jewellery?

What Does Bespoke Mean?

Tuesday, August 2nd, 2011

What exactly is a bespoke engagement ring? Many of us have never heard of it before. A bespoke ring or jewellery for that matter, is, in simple terms, a custom made piece of jewellery. The word bespoke was actually derived from the word bespeak that originated in early 1583 in the United Kingdom and meant made to order. Anything that can be made to order, from jewellery to clothes to curtains for instance, can be referred to as bespoke. It is anything that was made specifically for you meeting your requirements. When you design the engagement ring you will have all the help and advice you might require from the jeweller. You can even decide to have a stone that you might have inherited or received as a gift set in your engagement ring. That is no problem at all. It is your ring and the design, stone and everything else about the ring is completely up to you.

What to Consider when Buying Silver Bracelets

Saturday, July 30th, 2011

When it comes to purchasing jewelry, there are many things to keep in mind like design and price. However, there are also other considerations to make when purchasing something valuable, such as quality. Silver bracelets come in a wide range of designs and styles, but there is also differences in quality. These variations are caused by the addition of other metals to the silver when creating the bracelets, because silver is a naturally soft metal that needs to be hardened in order for it to keep shape. The metals used to harden silver, such as copper, you should always choose the bracelets that have the highest percentage of pure silver. Since silver is easy to work with, it is easy to mix and match several different kinds of bracelets to create a look that will accentuate any styling. Silver bracelets match almost any color combination and can come designs ranging from plain bangles to being decorated with matching silver charms.
